The past and present of 650
In an era when twin-cylinder medium-displacement ADVs have become mainstream, the 650 seems out of place, and the market speaks for itself.
The Wuji 650 has BMW genes, and uses the same engine as the Dakar Rally champion BMW F650GS (Figure 3). With decades of experience in OEM engine manufacturing for BMW, Loncin has launched a series of Wuji motorcycles.
As early as 2012, Wuji launched the 650R (Figure 4). It was a very well thought out product. The paint and configuration were quite luxurious. It had everything you wanted. Except for the large single cylinder, there was nothing wrong with it. But if the direction is wrong, no matter how hard you try, it will be useless. (You can make a street car [Shihua R] with a large single cylinder of 650) (Wuji: I feel bad too. The protection period of ADV models has not expired yet. I cannot infringe on the rights!)
Finally, after the protection period expired in 2019, Wuji launched its own 650 rally car.
The large single cylinder is both a disadvantage and an advantage. The disadvantage is that the vibration is large, and after 5500 rpm, there is a feeling of the sea, but it is acceptable. It feels like riding a fierce horse, tiring and strenuous, but cool! ! ! Using two spark plugs, the comprehensive urban fuel consumption is more than 4, which is fuel-consuming. I have tried a 700-kilometer motorcycle trip and the fuel consumption is 2.9.
The advantages are: tall appearance, very tough shape, can be called hard-core rally, in my humble opinion, if you are not a special enthusiast, there is no need to choose spoke wheels. The materials and workmanship are excellent, the best among domestically produced ones.
Of course, this car has a lot of problems, but it doesn’t affect my recommendation. It’s worth buying at a price of around 40,000 yuan, and second-hand is even cheaper. As for other problems, there are also many, we will talk about them in the next issue!
